European privacy legislation, the General Data Protection Regulation or in Dutch the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG) regulates how personal data of residents of European countries should be handled since 25 May 2018.

Before 25 May 2018, there was national legislation that guaranteed the privacy of citizens, but from now on companies must demonstrate in the same way for the whole of Europe that we guarantee the privacy of European citizens in all areas, even if we ourselves are not based in Europe, such as ETB Group.

The legislation has ensured that before we go live with each project, we carefully consider what personal data we receive, how we receive it and how long we retain it. So that we also guarantee the Privacy by design principle and that the privacy of your customers is guaranteed at all times.

We also regularly check whether adjustments are necessary in our current projects and provide our staff with training on the legislation in general as well as the specific agreements that exist in our projects if European citizens want to claim one of their rights, such as the Right to Forgetting.

In order to guarantee all matters, we use a whole series of procedures. They formulate our company's information security policy. In doing so, we have set up an information management system that we continuously update to protect all privacy-sensitive information and prevent data breaches. We do this in accordance with the CIA principle that stands for Confidentiality - Integrity - Availability. Information security guarantees the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data.
